Tripura Declared Fully Literate Under ULLAS Scheme
• Tripura was officially declared fully literate on June 26, 2025, under the ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram (New India Literacy Programme), becoming the third state in India—after Mizoram and Goa—to reach this milestone.

• Current Literacy Rate: 95.6% (among individuals aged 15+), up from 20.24% in 1961.
• Attended by Ministry of Education officials, State Education Department, neo-literate learners, and community stakeholders.
About ULLAS Scheme:
• Launched: 2022, for 2022–2027.
• Target Group: Non-literate youth and adults aged 15 years and above.
• Objectives: Foundational literacy, numeracy, life skills.
• Alignment With National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
• Mode: Community participation, digital certification via ULLAS app, door-to-door surveys, and localized mobilization.
